GENERAL RULES:

  • Floating finish.
  • 75’ rule.
  • First puller of each class has the option to drop to last.
  • No passengers allowed in vehicle while pulling.
  • Helmets and seat belts recommended in all classes.
  • Fire suits are highly recommended in 2WD, HSG, SBM, BBM
  • 2.5lbs dry chemical fire extinguisher is recommended to have within drivers reach.
  • Weight is prohibited inside cab of vehicle.
  • Any object becoming loose from the pulling vehicle and landing on the pulling surface will cause disqualification from the class. This excludes parts in the event of vehicle breakage.
  • Double hooking is allowed with a different driver. However vehicle can only place once. To prevent truck domination.
  • Pulling order will be determined by the driver drawing a number at the time the entry fee is paid. Late entries will pull last in class.
  • A drivers meeting will be held prior to start of event. All drivers are required to attend.
  • All pulls must start with a tight chain.
  • If the sled requires adjustment the class will restart. The competitor following the adjustment will be the new test puller.

 

 

 

STREET STOCK GAS: Maximum weight of vehicle including driver 6800#

  • Must pull 16” vacuum at 800 RPM . Access to vacuum port must be easily reached by technician. NO vacuum pump belt or electric drive.
  • May use aftermarket intake, carburetor. NO aftermarket fuel injection systems, NO turbochargers, (factory EcoBoost is fine) NO superchargers. Only one carburetor or one throttle body injection allowed.
  • Engine programmers are permitted
  • Must have mufflers. Headers are permitted, NO open headers. Exhaust must exit the rear of drivers compartment.
  • NO aluminum cylinder heads other than late model OEM
  • Must run on pump gas only, NO alcohol, NO NOS, NO E-85, NO oxygenated fuels, NO propane, NO race fuel
  • Must have minimum 1” suspension travel in rear. Air bags can be in place but must not have more than 10 PSI. suspension must have some give.
  • Traction bars allowed.
  • All headlights must be in place.
  • Must have DOT approved tires and wheels. NO tire chains.
  • May have farm fuel tank in bed but it must be empty and must be secure for safety reasons.
  • May not strip parts off truck to get into class except toolbox, tailgate, spare tire and farm tanks.
  • Must have front and rear bumpers.
  • U-joint shields and drive shaft loops are recommended but not mandatory.
  • ● Hitch may not be tucked under truck bed, must be Reese style receiver, 24” hitch height. Must have 3 1⁄2” or bigger opening. Hook point minimum 50” from centerline of rear axle. Clevises must be in a horizontal position, no twisted clevis.
  • Weight can ONLY be added to truck box behind the cab and must be secure and not sliding around back of truck.

 

 

 

2WD GAS: Maximum weight of vehicle including driver 5200#

  • Gas only, NO alcohol, NO E-85, NO fuel additives.
  • Naturally aspirated engines only.
  • MAX cfm carb, 4150/4160 Holley flange only. (No Dominators, King Demons, SV1, or split carbs.)
  • MAX 478 cubic inches +2%
  • Blocks and heads MUST be cast iron.
  • Aftermarket blocks and heads are allowed
  • No aluminum blocks and heads are allowed.
  • SFI approved harmonic balancer.
  • MUST use SFI approved flywheel.
  • Engine must be mounted within 6” of original V8 mounts.
  • Must have a catch can for the radiator.
  • Dual disc clutches are allowed.
  • No reversers or drop boxes allowed.
  • OEM style transmission ONLY.
  • One-ton rear axle or less.
  • No planetaries allowed.
  • Manual transmission MUST use a SFI approved bellhousing (blow proof).
  • Must use a block saver plate.
  • If bellhousing has been altered in any way (cut, torched, or welded) you must also run an SFI approved transmission blanket.
  • Automatic transmissions MUST be covered by an SFI approved transmission blanket.

 

HITCH SETUP:

  • 36” minimum hook point from center of rear axle.
  • 48” maximum hook point from centerline of rear axle.
  • Bolted clevis or hitch point must have 3.5” hole.
  • Hitch height is 30” maximum.
  • Must have sled stops that extend at least 8” past the rear most point of the truck.
  • Rigid suspension is permitted.
  • Front weights must not extend greater than 60”from centerline of front tires.
  • DOT tires only. 35“×12.5” maximum manufacturers tire size, NO cut, NO sipped, NO barred tires allowed.
  • U-joints shields and loops are required, must be constructed of 1/4” steel or 3/8” aluminum.
  • Vehicles up to 140”center to center of axles may run fully weighted.
  • Vehicles up to 146” must run 200lbs light.
  • No vehicles over 146” allowed.
  • Must have ignition tether switch located at rear of truck, easily accessible for sled operator.
  • In-cab batteries must be covered.

 

 

 

HOT STREET GAS: Maximum weight of vehicle including driver 6500#

  • Maximum displacement of 500 cubic inch, + 2% is permitted.
  • Naturally aspirated engines only, Pump gasoline or racing gasoline permitted. NO alcohol, NO E-85, NO nitrous, NO propane.
  • OEM cast iron blocks only.
  • Aftermarket heads are permitted. NO degreed heads. NO tunnel ram or sheet metal intakes. Maximum 2” carb spacer
  • Engine programmers are permitted.
  • Single carburetor only.
  • Vehicle must have exhaust system. Must exit behind the cab.
  • Wet sump engine oil systems only. No dry sumps.
  • Radiator must have an adequate overflow tank.
  • NO aftermarket fuel injection (Holley EFI, FI Tech, etc.)
  • 24” maximum hitch height
  • Hitch point must have a 3.5” hole minimum. Must be horizontal, NO twisted clevises. Reese style hitch only, NO pulling from the bumper.
  • A minimum of 42” is required from the centerline of the rear axle to the hook point.
  • Hitch not to be braced forward of the centerline of the rear axle or above the frame.
  • No batteries are to be located inside cab of vehicle.
  • Hydraulic Steering is permitted.
  • Hanging weight is permitted, not to exceed 60” from the front of the centerline of the front axle
  • NO fuel cell or batteries mounted to weight box/rack.
  • Plow mounts and brush guards are allowed. Plow pump must be removed. No homemade plow mounts or brush guards. All brackets must include a 3/8”hole for inspection.
  • Ladder bars are permitted.
  • Solid suspensions are permitted. But must be easily removable.
  • Any suspension air bags must contain less than 10 PSI pressure.
  • Must have rear bump stops.
  • Absolutely NO electronic traction control devices.
  • Factory spec wheelbase only.
  • Complete factory beds only. Beds and toolboxes must be mounted securely. Any bed without a full floor must have a tonneau cover.
  • Farm fuel tanks are allowed but must be empty and secure for safety reasons.
  • DOT tires only. Max 35” NO cuts, bars, or siping. NO tire chains.
  • U-joint shields and driveshaft loops are required. must be constructed of 1/4” steel or 3/8” aluminum.
  • One ton less rear axle permitted. No dual rear wheels. No cutting of rear axle tubes or narrowing permitted.
  • No open drivelines or drop boxes.
  • Fuel tanks must remain in the factory location or in the bed behind the cab. Relocated tanks must be securely fastened.
  • Brakes must be fully functional on all 4 corners of the vehicle. NO driveline brakes permitted.
  • Must have ignition tether switch located at rear of truck, easily accessible for sled operator.
  • All automatic transmissions must be covered by an SFI approved scatter blanket.
  • All manual transmissions must have an SFI approved blow proof housing.
  • All clutches must have a functioning foot pedal.
  • All flywheels must be SFI approved.
  • Harmonic balancers must be SFI approved or covered with a loop constructed of 1/4”steel or 3/8” aluminum.

 

 

 

SMALL BLOCK MODIFIED/ALTERED: Maximum weight of vehicle including driver is 6500#.

BIG BLOCK MODIFIED/ALTERED: Maximum weight of vehicle including driver is 6500#.

  • 2.5lb. Fire extinguisher required. Must be within drivers reach
  • Helmet and fire jacket highly recommended but not mandatory.
  • Use of aftermarket intake, carburetor, heads, or fuel injection systems are allowed. Only one carburetor or one throttle body injection allowed. NO superchargers NO turbochargers.
  • Exhaust must exit under the body of the truck, open headers allowed.
  • Engine must be located in factory position.
  • Fuel cells are allowed. Use of race gasoline is allowed. Oxygenated fuels are allowed, NO alcohol, NO E-85, or mixing of fuels are not allowed.
  • Blocking of rear axle is allowed. Must be safely fabricated. Traction bars are allowed. Truck must have original wheel base for year and model of truck.
  • Weight can be added to truck box behind cab and must be secure not siding around back of truck.
  • Hanging of weights and weight box in front of truck is allowed, must be secured properly. The furthest most point of the weights must not exceed 60” from center of front axle.
  • Must use OEM box, cab, and sheet metal for year and model of truck. Fiberglass and OEM hoods are allowed. Hood scoops are allowed.
  • Bed floor may be gutted. Any bed without a floor must have a tonneau cover.
  • Must have rear bump stops.
  • Hitch must be mounted at the rear of truck frame. Hook point must be a minimum of 36” from the center of the rear axle. maximum of 24" hitch height. Hook point must have a 3 1⁄2” opening. Clevises must be in a horizontal position, no twisted clevis.
  • Hydraulic steering is permitted.
  • Must have DOT approved tires.
  • Must have ignition tether switch located at rear of truck, easily accessible for sled operator.
  • Drop boxes and reversers are allowed.
  • All automatic transmissions must be covered by an SFI approved scatter blanket.
  • All manual transmissions must have an SFI approved blow proof housing.
  • Drive shaft loops and u-joint covers required, must be constructed of 1/4” steel Or 3/8” aluminum.

 

 

8500lb Work Stock

  • Trucks are limited to street legal stock appearing Diesel trucks with 4x4 weighing a maximum of 8500 lbs.
  • Hanging weight is permitted and must be on a bracket and not extend more than 60 inches from the centerline of the front axle.
  • OEM truck body with full street trim and complete interior. Working 4-wheel brakes. Must use DOT street tires. No hand throttles. 35x12.50 max tire size.
  • Engine, T-case and axles must be from a 1 ton or less. Air-to-Air intercoolers, Radiator and Battery's must be in factory location. No filled blocks or cylinder heads. Engine and cylinder head must circulate coolant. No air to water intercoolers except newer Fords 6.7s that came factory equipped.
  • Must use factory block and head castings. No runner intakes. No deck plates.
  • Fuel injection pumps are limited to 1 plunger per cylinder. Dual CP3 are allowed. No AG GOVERNORS.
  • Turbo is limited to 1 stock appearing factory make specific turbo. No S300 or S400 turbos or turbo parts are allowed. Ford 6.4 may use factory setup with no modifications. All pullers will make the turbo accessible to tech official. Duramax and Ford Trucks are allowed a T3 pedestal to be able to run a Cummins O.E style he351 set ups.
  • Exhaust must exit behind cab, turn ups required on tail pipes. Cross bolts are mandatory in down pipe. Driveshaft loops are required at front and rear axle. And any visible U joint
  • Rear suspension may be blocked solid with removable blocks. All factory suspension mounting points must stay intact and be used. Ladder bars are permitted and must have 2 points of contact. No center pinion links, and no bars or links mounted above centerline of axle. Must have straps around ladder bars. No bars are permitted to be used from hitch to axle. No rear frame trusses.
  • Hitch must be horizontal to the ground and stationary in all directions. No hanging or swinging Clevis. Reinforcements are permitted and must not be forward of the centerline of the axle. No part of the hitch can be higher than top of frame. Hitch height is 26 inches.
  • No water injection and no nitrous, no pressurized bottles are allowed on truck. No spraying of water on intercooler. No use of ice, period.
  • Safety
    • Drive Shaft Loops recommended
    • U-Joint Shields mandatory on rear axle u joint, and front axle u joint, and any visible
    • Transmission blanket recommended, if turn over 4500 mandatory
    • Kill switches - the disconnect must be at the rear of truck close to the hook point. Trucks can have either an electronic shut off and or a spring-loaded guillotine or both. It is recommended that all trucks have an air shut off.
  • Tech official decision is final.

 

 

8000lb 2.6 Smooth Bore/ Pro Street Diesel Truck

  • Maximum weight 8000
  • OEM Chassis is mandatory. The vehicle must retain the full OEM chassis. Wheel tubs, back half conversions and tube chassis are prohibited. Lengthening of frame allowed up to 158”. Longer trucks (158”-172”) must maintain OEM measurements for body being used.
  • The body must be OEM truck body including the full bed floor. No flatbeds permitted. The body must retain the full sheet metal. After market hoods permitted. The hood must be closed and securely latched when hooked to sled.
  • Maximum cubic inch 460. Engine must be in OEM locations for the body used. No aftermarket blocks permitted. Engine must have 3/8 cable surrounding #1 and #2 cylinders and must pass through the manifolds. 2 cables at splice with 4-6 inches of slack.
  • Cylinder head must be OEM or OEM replica for brand of engine. Outside of cylinder head must measure factory width and length. No billet heads of any material. Head must retain factory OEM valve angle. No deck plates permitted. Side draft and aftermarket intake manifolds are allowed.
  • Hook point to be no closer than 44”of centerline of rear axle. Maximum hitch height of 24” with a minimum of 3.75”x3” opening. Hitch must be stationary in all directions. Hitch must be frame mounted. The use of Reese style hitches is prohibited. Hitch must be centerline of rear axle or behind. Hitch must not exceed 25 degree angle from pivot point to hook point. No hitch supports or adjusters fastened to rear axle housing shall be above center point of rear axle. Pivot pin of drawbar can be no further forward than the centerline of rear axle.
  • We will allow a well-built Reese style hitch, no factory style Reese allowed, must be made for pulling!
  • We will not require a secondary safety hitch.
  • Turbo is limited to a 2.6” inducer bore. Bore must be smooth. No MAP Width Enhancement groove (MWE) allowed. Compressor wheel must protrude into 2.6” bore for 1/8”. Bore will be checked with a 2.605”turbo plug. Plug must not be able to enter inducer bore and contact wheel.
  • All vehicles must be equipped with upward pointing exhaust located either directly behind cab or out of truck hood. Two 3/8 inch diameter bolts must be placed through the exhaust pipe in a cross pattern within one inch of each other and within 12 inches of turbo.
  • Front hanging weights are allowed, not to exceed 60 inches forward from the centerline of front axle. Ballast may be added in the bed of truck but must be securely fastened. Maximum weight 8000 pounds.
  • All trucks must have at least six-inch-wide u-joint shield around all u-joints constructed of at least 5/16-inch steel or 3/8 aluminum that will safely contain the u-joint and the end of the driveshaft. All shields must be securely mounted to vehicle.
  • We will not require the drive line tether system.
  • A fire extinguisher system is permitted. 2.5# fire extinguisher must be securely mounted within reach of driver. A complete OEM firewall is required.
  • All drivers must have valid driver license and full SFI fire suit including helmet, gloves, neck brace. Seatbelt/restraint must be worn.
  • The complete OEM floor pan is mandatory. Vehicle must maintain a complete firewall. Additional gauges and pillar pods are permitted.
  • Hand throttles permitted. Diesel fuel only No propane or N02 or any other oxygen enhancers allowed
  • Maximum of one P pump up to P7100 allowed. 13MM plunger limit. Ag governors permitted. The use of multiple high pressure common rail fuel pumps is legal.
  • OEM rear and front ends required. Must have come factory in a one ton or smaller vehicle.
  • Axle shields are required. Shield to be .060” thickness steel or aluminum. A hole may be cut in one shield to allow operation of hub lock.
  • Safety switch (rain cap or guillotine) must shut off air to diesel engines. Switch will be securely mounted to back of vehicle. A 2 inch or bigger solid ring must be attached to end of switch. Ring must be zip tied to switch bracket. Switch must also be able to be activated in cab while driver is secured in vehicle.
  • 3-way fuel dump valve highly recommend, with a in cab control.
  • Hydraulic steering permitted
  • Suspension - The upper mounting point for strut assembly must be in factory location. Adjustable caster/ camber pillow ball mounts are permitted. The lower control arm may be strengthened provided the factory mounting points are maintained. Strut tower braces, lower tie bars, sway bars, and limit straps are permitted. Traction bars and devices are permitted. Raising or lowering of vehicle height with suspension modifications is permitted but must be bolt on only. Welds permitted for attachment to frame and axle only. Blocked suspension permitted. No air bags. Rear suspension may be made solid.
  • Tires must be DOT approved with maximum size of 35x12.50. No studded tires or tire chains. No alterations to tires permitted. No bar or terra tires.
  • Dual wheels are prohibited.
  • OEM transmission and transfer case must be used. Must have come factory in a one ton or smaller vehicle.
  • Non-OEM transmissions prohibited. Aftermarket torque convertors, valve bodies, and internal components are permitted.
  • SFI bell housing and/or SFI blow proof bell housing or SFI blanket type shield must be used.
  • Water injection is prohibited. 2. Air to air intercooler only. No ice or water permitted truck during competition.

Driveshaft Loops:

  • Drive shaft loops required (3/4” or wide), 1/8” or thicker steel (1/4” or thicker aluminum). No more than 2” larger than the largest u–joint. If cut in half, must be bolted within 1” from ends and a maximum of 16” apart from loop to loop (multiple loops). If using a one piece cover it must be bolted a maximum of 6” apart the entire length and at least 1” from ends. All fasteners must be at least 3/8”– grade 8 bolts. NO HINGE STYLE permitted. Must be securely fastened. 

U–joint shielding:

  • All u–joints and yokes must have a 360 degree cover, at least 6” long (covering entire yoke and u–joint), 1/4” thick steel (3/8” thick aluminum). Inside diameter of shield will be no more than 2" larger than u–joint. If cover is cut in half it must be fastened no farther than 1” from ends with at least 3/8”– grade 8 bolts. Must be bolted a maximum of 6” from bolt to bolt. All intermediate shafts need covered 360 degrees. NO HINGE STYLE fasteners permitted. Must be securely fastened. 

Harmonic Balancer:

  • All engines must be equipped with a harmonic balancer or dampener meeting SFI Spec18.1.

  • All vehicles are required to shield all rotating mass mounted on the front of the crankshaft, if unobstructed. Shields to be from frame rail to frame rail and top to bottom. Shields to be a minimum of .125” steel or aluminum fastened by at least 2 evenly spaced 3/8” grade 5 bolts.
